BYD specializes in 46CFR Subchapter-T Certification.  We have helped certify older vessels refitted for carrying passengers as well as new custom builds, up to 68 passengers.

We can create Stability Booklets and help you with the in-the-water testing, as well as advise you if you prefer the Simplified Stability Test.

One of our strongest distinction is the ability to design, engineer and prototype products in house, cutting R&D time significantly over larger, separate outfits.  We can create photo-realistic renderings to present to corporate clients for approval, we have the ability to CNC-cut 3d plugs out of a variety of materials.  Since we have both a design & engineering office as well as a fully-equipped, production-ready shop, our work is integrated and efficient.

We literally CNC-cut thousands of sheet material every year, in many different materials, including Marine Plywood, HDPE (Kings Starboard), PVC, Coosa, Kay-Cel, Acrylic, Polycarbonate, beBond and of course MDF.  Ask us what material is more suited to your projects, and the advantages and inconvenient of each.


Rudder & Appendages design and optimization.


We specialize in high performance rudders design.  Foam-cored, vaccuum-bagged epoxy blades that will increase the speed, balance your helm, and raise the stall angle of your boat.  We have worked in conjunction with FastComposites.ca  who have built our designs for demanding customers.  We can design and CNC-cut the ideal profile for your boat’s rudder or centerboard.  We’ve had great success with wood/epoxy foils, saving a ton of weight over molded halves while retaining 100% strength.  We vacuum-bag and post-cure our blades for extra strength and minimal weight.
